There are a number of solutions for green walls, including mineral- and clay-based pigments you can add to the no-VOC base paints sold by major manufacturers. Tucson's very own Citron Paint carries only low-VOC paints. Arizona-made Green Planet Paints adds soy-resin to their clay paints, making surfaces washable (unlike most paints that use natural pigments) and you can't forget the popular American Clay--a naturally pigmented, easily applied clay plaster. It works in any room but is great for bathrooms, where it absorbs then re-releases moisture, keeping windows and mirrors from fogging. BioShield Paint offers several non-toxic options including milk paints, no-VOC or low-VOC paints, and solvent free paint.
